SPECIES RICHNESS, EVENNESS & ECOLOGICAL ROLES
The Western Ghats are a global hotspot for amphibians and reptiles, many of which are endemic and play vital roles in ecosystem stability. Our studies focus on species diversity, habitat requirements, and the ecological functions of snakes, lizards, and amphibians, contributing to evidence-based conservation strategies.
SNAKEBITES, PUBLIC HEALTH & ECONOMIC IMPACTS
Snakebite envenomation is a major but often overlooked public health crisis in India. Our research examines snakebite incidence, access to healthcare, and the economic burden of treatment, while also assessing the effectiveness of antivenom distribution and awareness campaigns. By integrating conservation with public health efforts, we aim to reduce snakebite mortality while promoting coexistence between people and reptiles.
